H Cowl

What is it for?

If you have a problem with downdraught and your chimney or flue is in an exposed condition with prevailing winds or turbulence, the H Cowl is probably the ultimate static anti-downdraught chimney cowl and has been used for many years to good effect. As the wind passes down the top of the external parts, it creates a wind flow that exhausts the smoke and fumes out of the lower exits, so isolating the combustion gases from the prevailing winds

What sizes & options are available?

Each H Cowl is manufactured to suit the individual flue or pot size. An H Cowl can be fitted to a round flue or pot with internal diameters between 100mm to 304mm. The H Cowl is made from stainless steel – recommended for solid fuels including coal, wood and oil. In order to comply with regulations H Cowls for gas come factory fitted with mesh birdguard inserts. An adapter for a square chimney pot is available. Available in natural (unpainted), or powder coated terracotta or black.

How do I fit one?

The H Cowl is fitted to the pot or flue by way of a sleeve and external leg and strap system.
